I realised that there was never a formal announcement here to read up:
The Catara NWN server is offline for quite some time now, due to time constraints. I might revive it someday, but it is pretty unlikely. If anyone wants to use our custom classes or tools, ping me on twitter (@jollyorc) and we can see what we can do for you!
In the meantime, I do recommend The World of Avlis: https://avlis.org/
How to get into the game

1. Basic necessities:
You need Neverwinter Nights and both expansion packs (Shadows of Undrentide & Hordes of the Underdark). Also, you need it patched to the latest patch level of 1.69. If you've got a non-english version of NWN, you need to apply the english language critical rebuild to reach the 1.69 patch level.
2. Get these haks:
CoPaP-Haks
the CRAP-Haks
Catara_Main_2.0.hak
Catara_Main_2.1.hak
Catara_Main_2.2.hak
3. Read world info:
You'll find it all over the forums here, in a mostly nicely formatted way.
4. Log in to:
catara.game-server.cc:5121, or look under GameSpy PW Story. No password required for now.
5. Enjoy!
Tell your friends if you liked it. Especially register to the forums here, so you can talk in character to the other players and meet up in-game later. -
Available classes & races
Catara uses a custom system to prevent certain classes & races to reach numbers higher than is suitable for the setting. That means that while you can create them, they won't be able to enter the gameworld. PCs that have been created off-world and are arriving on Catara via a portal are excepted from that system.
