I realised that there was never a formal announcement here to read up:
The Catara NWN server is offline for quite some time now, due to time constraints. I might revive it someday, but it is pretty unlikely. If anyone wants to use our custom classes or tools, ping me on twitter (@jollyorc) and we can see what we can do for you!

I've got a Beta-Server running on the old adress (jollyorc.is-a-geek.net:5121, or as cataraBETA under Tech Support in GameSpy).
This is a copy of the servervault & db from before the move, NOT the live server, so go wild there.
What is it you can test?
The latest incarnation of Avlis Spellhooking! (Incl. the 1.69 spells)
Alas, that required a major overhaul of quite a few systems, from persistant NPCs to the death system, including the p-chests and a bunch of other stuff. A first brief look indicates that all is fine, but I'm not sure.
So, please test the hell out of the thing and note anything you find odd in this thread. -

It's open vault, although the password is set in to deter the vandals :)
Password is "betatest" -
Testing.. spell hooking system 1.8.0.6c
Test PC: lvl15 wiz (stock char, fairly random selection of spells)
Problems encountered:
Summon Creature V summoned a 1hp naked dwarf
Summon Creature VII summoned a 1hp naked dwarf
Combat with a goblin caster suggests all summon spells will call this disturbing dwarf!
Shelgarn's persistent blade affected by poison (confused by Cloud of Bewilderment on failing a save Vs poison)
Hail of Stone seemed to be affecting only a single target, but it did at least work
Lesser sonic orb worked correctly
I'll make up a better test PC & try again with a wider range of spells -
Death system, chests, & explore XP all seem to be working properly.

There shouldn't be any more naked dwarfs at least. I'll have a look at the other stuff, but can't comment on that yet.

by now I learned that the Shelgarn's thing is a basic NWN/Bioware error that we won't be able to get rid off.

Made up a test wizard to have a blast thru all the spells.. can't seem to log into test server atm.. is it down? -
