I realised that there was never a formal announcement here to read up:
The Catara NWN server is offline for quite some time now, due to time constraints. I might revive it someday, but it is pretty unlikely. If anyone wants to use our custom classes or tools, ping me on twitter (@jollyorc) and we can see what we can do for you!

Now that Catara is back in CoPaP and the hosting situation looking good too, let's talk business.
Let's talk portals!
I am currently thinking about even allowing Avlis-folks in without having to go nekkid through their deathplane. Instead I have the following idea:
They'll end up somewhere near Drekon, who'll start to greet them as newly deceased, then discover that they're not. He then sends them out into the world as ghosts for some reason. They'll have to wander around the world, figure out how to become corporeal again, finish the deathquest and only then are properly on the server.
Any opinions? -
That sounds like a very fun idea.
Through the ghost deathquest they should get a good feel of how things work in Catara...most obvious being the use of magic.
I'm guessing a mage can't use any of his magic when being a ghost? Are all such abilities removed? -
