I realised that there was never a formal announcement here to read up:
The Catara NWN server is offline for quite some time now, due to time constraints. I might revive it someday, but it is pretty unlikely. If anyone wants to use our custom classes or tools, ping me on twitter (@jollyorc) and we can see what we can do for you!

Is it possible to send PMs on this forum?
I noticed the whisper option acts as a sort of PM, but is it possible to send a whisper without starting a discussion thread? -
alas, no, at least not out of the box. I'm working on expanding the forum software for that though, but it might still take some time.

I decided not to implement this. Why?
Because this here actually makes sense:
You can whisper an entire discussion to someone, and you can very easily filter to "my whispers" so you can see only your private discussions. It's pretty much the same thing as PMing, but not as separate from the discussions. Check out the "Whispered Discussions" and "Whispered Comments" links under "Discussion filters" over to the left.
You've just got to think outside the box. -
Yea, the whisper system might be an even better solution than PMs come to think of it...
